Got me an American Special to go with my Hwy 1. Love them both. I got an SKB hard/soft case too. The included Fender gig bag did not impress me with the Hwy 1, so I sprung for this. Very nice case, very stiff and sturdy feeling. The interior is almost exactly like the Fender hard case that comes with the standard, and it was $30 cheaper.

Everyone who has an AM Special seems to love them, I hope to get one in white one day. Congrats on your purchase.

I guess when it comes to guitars you're either a sunburst man or a solid colour man, it seems like you're a sunburst man, I'm more of a natural or solid colour man myself :D

I share your joy - bought a Sunburst Special on Monday, having great difficulty putting it down; first day at music school all over again! :D

Thanks! Yes, I do like the classic beauty of the bursts. I have a blizzard pearl/maple Am Std strat that I love, a HSH FSR hand-stained ash strat, mahogany/maple (the wife claimed it..lol), and my Am Dlx HSS is burst/rosewood. I was really GASing over the Am Spec CAR strat, the pics I've seen of it are gorgeous, haven't seen it in person yet.

Yes they are! I haven't touched my other guitars since their arrival!
