So I was playing my tele while I was sitting down, and I went to grab a drink of water off my desk and as I was drinking I spilled the water on my tele, that was in my lap. I thought I had only spilled it on the body so I wiped it off right away but then about 5-10 minutes later I noticed I had spilled on the top of the pick guard, right were the pick guard meets the neck on the top side, I cleaned it off right away, and I don't think anything got in the channel where the neck meets the body, or under the pick guard, it mostly got on the neck, what I want to know is, will I have any problems at all with the neck, or anything else on the guitar.

P.S. in the event that I did get water under the pick guard can someone walk me through how to remove it and clean under there.

There's probably little reason to be concerned. Have you ever watched a Bruce Springsteen concert? He sweats so much and he douses himself with water enough to give his guitar a virtual bath and it seems to hold up...

Your best be is to put your guitar on a stand in a warm, dry area. That will allow the air to circulate around the instrument. The water should evaporate quite effectively.

If you want to be sure about under the pickguard, remove the strings and the 5 or 8 screws on the perimeter of the pickguard (be sure to put them in a safe place). The wires from the neck pickup may have enough slack to flip the guard back on itself and set it down on the bridge area (put a small towel there to protect from scratches). If so, you can wipe the area under the guard. You may not have enough wire to work with so you'll have to hold the guard while you wipe.

You should be able to get it reasonably dry.

Good luck!

No problem with water if you wipe it, follow ckfoley advice.

If some water in routing and pick up , after wipe, leave pickgard remove an dry it with "cold" air, fan ventilator.

It shouldn't cause any harm. I've been gigging on cruise ships (topside)
when it's started pouring and gear was drenched, but my Fenders
take a licking and keep on ticking.

If you want to remove the pickguard just to be safe, it is simply a matter of undoing the screws, 5 or 8, that attach it to the body.
If it is a Tele that has the neck pickup attached to the pickguard, it might not lift very far (be gentle) but you should still be able to see if any damp has got underneath, and give it a wipe!

A quick check will involve lossening the strings a bit and affixing a capo around the 6th fret. Place a thick towel on a table and put the guitar face down and remove the screws in the neckplate. The neck can then be gently removed. Turn the guitar over and remove the pickguard and perform an inspection. I'll bet it's dry in there. If not mop up the moisture and reassemble. Be careful situating the neck. You don't want to crack the finish.
