Thanks....I love it rying to decide on an Amp now.

it's a great guitar...

i am fortunate to have a 59 bassman ltd and a deluxe reverb reissue that are both great amps. I also have a champ 600 reissue and an epiphone valve junior and head and matching cab.

however, i am also in the market for an amp since next week is my birthday and I have saved some money. for me i want something slightly smaller if possible. The amps on my short list include the fender princeton reverb reissue, the 57 champ reissue( a local store has one even though they have been discontinued), the orange tiny terror combo, the marshall class 5, or the peavey classic 30. I know that the marshall or orange amps would give something different than I already have, but i am really leaning toward the princeton.

which matchless and dr z amps are you considering?

I play my AVRI 52 Tele through a 5F6A Bassman clone that I built:

Yes, the AVRI 52 is on the left. 2009 MIM Standard Strat in the middle, Squire "Esquier" on the right. The amps are (from L to R) a Weber 5F6A Bassman clone I built, a Fender Blues Deluxe Reissue, a 5F1 configured Champion 600, and a Frontman 25R.

Glock, if the $900 for a PRRI is too much, then Dr Z is out of your range.
You might find a Maz18 for around $1000 is you're lucky. Look used, you can get a clean Princeton for around $650-700.

Having said that, there is NO comparison of a PRRI to a Maz18. No slam on the PRRI, but the Dr Z is hand-wired, built like a tank, and should last you as long as you want / need it.

I have an 8502 Tele and with the Maz it is heavenly!

How much wattage do you need? I had (but sold) a Swart 6v6SE, which also sounded great with the Telecaster. However, (another good lower-wattage choice) I wanted another vintage Vibro Champ, and found a 1965 VC that was incredible. Six watts that can crank, sweet cleans, and a vibrato to die for.

I dont mind paying for a good amp...But a freind of mine that works at fender in Calif said their is nothing special about the Prinston Reverb as far as wiring or other stuff its a basic amp pretty much and a little bit on the high end price for what you are getting....Now like the Dr-Z or Matchless are more but have more to offer.....
