Yeah, there's no need to hit the bright switch on a Twin with that Tele. The brightness is already there.

It still doesn't sound like a normal Tele because of the vintage pickups.

That's what a "normal" Tele is SUPPOSED to sound like.

I see your point Bill. What I was saying is that the pups are different from regular Tele pups, i.e, the reason Fender calls them Vintage pups.

Now the question I have is it comes with a kit to where you can rewire it, right now its wired to the old style...By rewireing it will I keep the same sound plus get a new sound? The neck position sounds very dark and muddy, I was told that they were built like that because back then it would give them more of a bass sound when their was no bass guitars.

Vintage wiring gives you the following (See page 4):

http://support.fender.com/service_diagr ... C_SISD.pdf

Modern wiring give you the following (See page 4):

http://support.fender.com/service_diagr ... A_SISD.pdf

They are mutually exclusive witing schemes.

I use the modern wiring plus I added the Greasebucket tone circuit (See page 2):

http://support.fender.com/service_diagr ... A_SISD.pdf

As far as the sticky neck goes, I sanded the back of the neck first with 400 grit sandpaper, followed by 1000 grit paper. Just enough to take the shine off but not enough to sand through the lacquer. Then I put a good coat of paste wax on it. Nice and slippery now. :D

Hey you said you added a (Grease bucket Tone Circuit) What does that do to your tone or I guess the stupid question I will ask is what is it?

Fender's lame description of the Greasebucket tone control:

"Greasebucket™ Tone Circuit (rolls off high without adding bass)"

The description is lame because a passive circuit cannot "add" anything. It only takes away. In reality, as treble is rolled off by the Greasebucket, a slight amount of bass is rolled off at the same time. This prevents the tone from becoming too muddy as more highs are rolled off. Some people like how it sounds, others don't.

Thanks. Most of the indoor gear pics I take are awful. The desert sun makes me an almost passable photographer... almost. :)

I haven't messed with the wiring. Once I discovered that I could get the neck/bridge pickups combination by lodging the selector switch halfway between positions 1 and 2 (bridge and middle), I saw no need for it.
