Pledge on the backside applied by rag works good for slicking it up.

Now the question I have is it comes with a kit to where you can rewire it, right now its wired to the old style...By rewireing it will I keep the same sound plus get a new sound? The neck position sounds very dark and muddy, I was told that they were built like that because back then it would give them more of a bass sound when their was no bass guitars.

Vintage wiring gives you the following (See page 4):

http://support.fender.com/service_diagr ... C_SISD.pdf

Modern wiring give you the following (See page 4):

http://support.fender.com/service_diagr ... A_SISD.pdf

They are mutually exclusive witing schemes.

I use the modern wiring plus I added the Greasebucket tone circuit (See page 2):

http://support.fender.com/service_diagr ... A_SISD.pdf

As far as the sticky neck goes, I sanded the back of the neck first with 400 grit sandpaper, followed by 1000 grit paper. Just enough to take the shine off but not enough to sand through the lacquer. Then I put a good coat of paste wax on it. Nice and slippery now. :D

I rewired mine and it makes it more like a "normal" Tele. The neck pickup is no longer as muddy. It still doesn't sound like a normal Tele because of the vintage pickups. I won't be going back to the old way.

That's what a "normal" Tele is SUPPOSED to sound like.

Yes but the middle position is the sweetest I've heard on a
telecaster.
Congrats on the new tele, I would rewire too.

No, you said the 52 DOESN'T sound like a normal Tele BECAUSE OF the vintage pickups. I maintain that the 52 is what a normal Tele is supposed to sound like. Big difference.

Beautiful '52 Reissue. Congrats!

I took the AVRI '52 plunge last year and decided to keep the original wiring. The neck/bridge pickup combination is there with the original wiring but it's located in an in between spot. Lodge the switch halfway between the bridge and neck positions and there it is. It works like the vintage 3 way switches on two of my Strats.

I have been playing around with the switch and getting some cool sounds with it. Thanks to all who helped or adviced me on this guitar.
