I'm interested to know more about the "Vintage Style Single-Coil Tele Pickups" that are on the Blackout Telecaster. Specifically, are they ceramic or Alnico and if Alnico are they 5's?
Any additional info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Personally, I have not had much experience with them. However, if they are labeled "Vintage" they probably won't have alot of output, the DC resistance would range from 6.6-7.1K OHMs. I believe the magnets are Alnico 3, but I may be mistaken. Sorry, I can't tell you much, there isn't a whole lot of info on them out there.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, not any information at all. I'm surprised by that.
I measured the pups to be;
Neck: 6.94 k-Ohms
Middle: 6.84 k-Ohms
Bridge: 5.88 k-Ohms
So your estimate is bang on. I've found info also suggesting Alnico 5's but more pointing towards Alnico 3's. So I'm safe to assume they are not ceramic pups. Thanks again. The search continues.

Sorry I couldn't provide any more information, like I said before, there isn't a whole lot of info on these pickups out there. I just had I pickup quest myself, different situation though. If you can't find any info here I would try sending an email to fender asking for your pickup specs. Good luck! :D

I've emailed them but no answer. That is why I started to post my question on various boards. I'll post any additional info if and when. Cheers

You may have to be a bit patient with fender. There are some cases where they reply instantly or sometimes it takes FOREVER. I remember emailing them a Strat serial # for details, I thought the reply would be thorough. Instead, I got an email with the color of the guitar, the serial # I gave Fender and the manufacture date; most of the information I already knew! :lol: Anyway, I wish you the best of luck, once again. :D

Thanks, I'll keep searching. I find it very odd that Fender doesn't have any specs on their "Vintage Style Single-Coil" pickups.

Received confirmation from Fender that all three pickups are AlNiCo 5's.
