I have a 2009 American Standard tele. It is a natural finish and a maple neck. Can anybody tell me what kind of wood was used on this body?

Thanks kyluckeyman. Does your 6006 still look good? I really like the natural wood. I have the maple neck. You have maple or rosewood ?

It has "yellowed" a bit and has a few nicks a dings but still is very attractive. I do wish the neck was finished like they were in the 60's as the yellowed neck and worn frets is a classic look. My neck is pale....The only modification I did to it was put an electrosocket on it. Years ago I had a 68 tele and the socket kept falling out and there was no way I'll have that problem again.

All US Standards made before March 2012 came with slab bodies. The 2012 version does have the comfortable Stratocaster-style belly cut from the US Deluxes without the binding.

Chromeface.. Nice photo . You say you changed to a black pick guard. What was the original colour?

Photo is not mine. kyluckyman had trouble to attach pictures from his facebook account so I managed to do the job myself.

Black p/g is stock since the introduction of the series in 2008.

When I bought it on EBay, it had a White pick guard and black powder coated strap hangers (all of which I kept and have ). I determined it would look better if it had a black pickguard and chrome like strap buttons, so I switched those back with Fender parts. I added an electrosocket per my comments above.

Here is my tele befor the pickguard swap. You can see from the pictures about how much it has yellowed in three years. I keep it on a stand ready to go near the amp. I don't keep any guitars in a case.

Actually looks quite nice with the white pick guard. I guess its tough to change the colour of the pick guard with a natural finish. Any other colours out there with the natural finish?
