one of the first guitars i wanted when looking through a fender catalogue was a 90's tele thinline. the only reason i didnt get one is because the '72 custom was cheaper, and i wasnt earning much as a 15 year old.

very quickly fender seemed to stop making them. this would have been about 10 years ago when i saw it in the book, and ive not seen one since, apart from 1 or 2 on ebay.

anybody have one of these, just curious as to what i missed out on ? i loved the look of them, and recently played a 72 thinline, which i really liked.

I like the ones with maple necks.

These are mine (except the crimson red one was sold a couple of years ago.)...

it was a while ago, but im sure the guitar i was looking at at the time didnt come in an array of colours. it was natural finish, black binding, red TS pickguard, maple neck.

i do like that white one especially though, very nice, and i can imagine a '90's indie band guitarist playing it. the black binding is for me what really sets these guitars off, and is why id have one over the 72 thinline.

thanks

The Telebration Modern Thinline is another elegant take on the original 90's. The only differences between the two are the staggered tuners, rolled edge neck with detailed nut/fret work, glossy fingerboard and the new American Tele bridge with vintage bent steel saddles & copper-infused block which has been introduced in 2008.

This model has been discontinued.

Not sure if Roger Rossmeisl has been involved to the concept.
