A few months ago i purchased a American Standard tele with a US10 serial number. (Assuming manufactured in 2010) It has the 60th annivesary plate where the neck bolts through.
Can anybody tell me the differance between the standard tele and the annivesary tele? Is it just the colour?

I played one two weeks ago, it had a nitro finish, ash body, 60th neckplate, I was surprised that it was slightly heavier than my standard which has an alder body.

From what I can tell you're basically paying an extra $400 for the finish.

Speaking with Fender quite recently, cos of a Tele Standard I spotted with the 60th anniversary plate, I was told, as quoted: "The plate was on 2011 production only, in celebration of the 60th anniversary."

I don't know about your 2010 model, I can only think that if your one was made in late '10 that would be the same conclusion.

From the horse's mouth then. Hope this helps.

Thanks everybody for your responses I do think it was manufactured late 2010 so you are probably correct. I could be wrong but as stated I do think the only differance is the finish
