Am new guy here to Tele forum and looking for feedback, comments, and you may done something like what I am setting up to do. Objective: a jazz rhythm Tele Thinline.

So far am thinking:

-body, Ash with Black Korina top
-maple neck with rosewood fretboard
- Neck pickup, Lollar Charlie Christian; Bridge, Seymour Duncan 1/4 pounder or Lollar special T
- Bridge rig, trapeze with tune-o-matic
-no pickguard

Have considered lots of other details that I wont bore everyone here with, but feel free to comment, opinionize on any other build and hardware characteristics including those listed above. Probably the two items I wont change are the Thinline body and the Lollar CC pup in the neck. Played a neck CC in a solid body Tele on Fri and was really impressed.

Thanks, CH

Good choice, any alnico II or alnico III P90 from a quality pickup maker will do... Duncan antiquities good too...

I built an Andy Summers inspried Tele that I've been told works really well for Jazz (I'm not a jazz player).
It's got a sd jazz pickup that has been coil tapped and a mid-range "scoop" tone pot that I really like.

Good luck with your project.

paris, thanks for that info. the sd 1/4 pounder was recommended by the guy I am collaborating with on the build. That sd is coil tapped and I played a Tele that had it in the bridge position. I liked all the different tones I could get out of it. dont know how it will sound combined with a CC neck pickup.
