I'll put down another vote for the Vox AC-30

I play with 50w Bassman head and 412 celestion/marshall cabinet under it, i think that is best for me. I play just a rhythm, not lead.

Our lead guitarist uses a 212 Music Man with Tele and Stratocaster. Great sounds.

Sorry about my bad english, but i live here nearby russian border. In beatiful little country, Finland.

I play through a Peavey CLassic 30, great tones through it. Add a compressor (RetroComp) in the mix and some delay (a DD6) and it's tonal bliss. I also have a Roland Cube 30, sounds good too throguh it also.

I'm going to have to suggest the following two amps....1) 65 twin reverb re-issue and 2) the blues junior. My teles sound amazing through either one. Teles and tubes.....WOW. 8)

I also thought that my marshall 3210 sound is very disappointing with my Tele. I always return to my lowly Fender Stage lead. It's got that vibrolux sparkle and it is loud. I bought it in 1984, so I guess that makes it vintage. But the transistor amp really has a warm sound, so I'm satisfied. I think Fender with Fender makes the best sound. But I'll bet that Supersonic amp combo would give all my guitars a sonic advantage!

Got Fender 60th Tele, was disappointed in the sound from Marshal 2204 vintage celestion speakers...great amp just not right for twange...tried in Fender twin 70's...great for strat, but still wasn't quite right...then I tried this fender hot rod Deluxe with vintage celestion speakers and reverb..3 channel set up and loud enought you can play with drums...Texas Red Hot Edition...hit it right on the head...great sound and a great amp, that want break your back carrying it around...I suggest you try one out...make sure you get the celestion vintage 30's...thatrs the difference for me. -Ed

I'm liking my Telecaster best through my 76 Champ. Plugged straight in, no pedals just guitar, cord, and amp.

I got a 60th Anni. from GCenter. The guitar comes equipped with a 3 saddle bridge; a reverse wired selector switch and in the wiring is a different than standard capacitor (affects tonal characteristics) installed on "modern" Teles.
Included in the case is a 6 saddle bridge and a capacitor for modern Teles, also is a wiring diagram on how to update the guitar.
I performed the update and it still doesn't sound like a Tele should; there's no spank; I guess because the bridge pickup is different than what's in a modern Tele? So maybe it doesn't matter what conventional (non modelling) amp you have; no spank in--no spank out?

I collect Telecasters and had the same problem about a year ago, just before a gig. If you have the means to "mic-up" an amp, I would highly recommend the Vox AC30. However, if you can't mic anything, I would recommend the Marshall "Bluesmaster" Combo. Good Luck.

All this about Vox AC -30s...
I think it was '79 or '80 I was serving in the USAF in Hawaii; living in the "dorm"; I had a room mate (Eric) who just bought a used white Strat; I think it was the day he picked it up that we went to Harry's Music in Honolulu to pick up a Vox Cambridge he picked up at the swap meet that needed serviced.
Anyway we went back to the repair section and there sat this amp; a huge VOX with 2 12"s and it was looking BRAND new! It had a "round the world" power transformer in so you could plug in just about anywhere there was electricity; and the amp worked perfectly we were assurred. The repairman wanted $50.00 bucks for this amp and Eric had no amp of his own so I loaned Eric the money and we loaded it up and headed to some other guitar shop to see what was going on there thinking we bought this cool amp but nothing special.
We went inside to brag on the purchase and the guys inside ran out to the car and found "AC 30" on the data plate.
This amp had reverb and vibrato I think; it was a killer deal though for 50 bucks....maybe the model the beatles used?
