Got Fender 60th Tele, was disappointed in the sound from Marshal 2204 vintage celestion speakers...great amp just not right for twange...tried in Fender twin 70's...great for strat, but still wasn't quite right...then I tried this fender hot rod Deluxe with vintage celestion speakers and reverb..3 channel set up and loud enought you can play with drums...Texas Red Hot Edition...hit it right on the head...great sound and a great amp, that want break your back carrying it around...I suggest you try one out...make sure you get the celestion vintage 30's...thatrs the difference for me. -Ed

Hey all - I have a 1998 Tele Nashville and run it through a Peavey Classic 30 (all tube wonderfulness!). I've had the amp over 10 years now and I bought it used. The speaker doesn't say Blue Marvel on it. Smooth, warm tone as with all Peavey amps. My latest aquisition two years ago, for a little more power outdoors, is a Peavey Studio Pro with a Blue Marvel. I've recently been playing around with a VOX 30 ADVT thinking of running it through the Studio Pro to take advantage of some of the effects. I also have a late '80's Korean Strat (Fender decal on the neck) and a '98 MIM Strat, OLP EVH copy (nice) and a Squier '51.

Telecasters sound good through a large variety of amps. Some standouts include:

Any '50s Fender "tweed" but especially the 5E3 Deluxe
Any '60s Fender "brownface" but especially the 6E3 Deluxe-Amp
Any '60s Fender "blackface" but especially the AA763 Deluxe-Amp or Deluxe Reverb-Amp
Marshall JTM45 "Bluesbreaker" combo
Marshall #1974 "18 Watt" combo
Vox AC15
Vox AC30

Of these, I gotta say there's a special magic that happens with 5E3s and AC30s and a Telecaster.

I play My Deluxe ash tele through my "new" twin. I think its's amazing.
the 30 watt switch is a really nice feature. Really heavy for an old man to be luggin around, but the sound is worth it to me. have fun Jim

I have been playing my 1998 Custom Deluxe American made Telecaster though a Fender Princeton chorus amp and at the higher volume it sounds great but not so at the lower volume. I have since switched to an Epiphone Valve Standard tube amp and sounds great at any volume! Old style tube is the best.

I play my Baja Tele through a VOX AC15-TBXR with 12'' Celestion Alnico
''Vox Blue'' speaker and a Peavey Delta Blues (TM) 115 with 15'' Blue
Marvel speaker.

Sounds great on both amps.

I like the sounds from my stock
MIM Tele,,, and stock SCXD on
the clean channel...

Of course I'm just a beginner,,,
but that combo sounds good to
me...

It seems everyone is changing
somethings on their guitar or
amp to get a certain sound...
I was lucky,,, I found mine on
all stock gear...

I even have a stock vintage guitar
strap... LOL

I play a Fender Hot Rod Deville 410 and a 1976 Fender Super Reverb both sound amazing through the amp. If you want a twangy tele sound just use a cable under 15' to let the true sound come through. If you use anything longer than 15' you lose signal because there isn't electronics on the guitar to push the signal unless you have active pickups.

The SCXD is a killer little amp. I've been waiting patiently for them come back in stock. Put some decent p/u's in that MIM Tele and that clean channel on the SCXD will really shine.

Anything low wattage sounds great for a tele, i use a 30 watt supro, and it screams, and a big fan of the Deluxe Reverb, ot the little champ. Also for a new amp i am in love with the mesa 5:25 express, or a dr. z perscription extra strentgh, both sound amazing with my teles, and i played a esquire(my next guitar) through the mesa and it truely blew my mind!!
