I'm not an expert on teles, or much else for that matter. :)

Seller claims neck is stamped Nov 96 and S\N6112521. He doesn't think it's all originial but everything is fender. :?:

Thoughts as to being genuine and your perceived value?

The tuners don't say Fender on them. They look like the tuners that come on a Squier.
The truss rod plug looks of the black plastic sort you'd see on a MIM Fender or on a Squier, rather than the walnut plug you'd see on an American Tele.
It has the butterfly string tree rather than the roller string tree the American teles have.
It looks like the serial number and make were rubbed off the back of the headstock.

That's all I could make out from the pictures, as they were not sizable.

No expert here either but the Fender logo on the headstock looks way wrong. Plus the missing or removed serial number is a red flag.
