I bought a new Nashville in blond, it came with a tortiose guard, I thought it was ugly, and since it was blond, put a black guard on (too cliche???). Anyway, on the high E string, it buzzes pretty badly, just think of a drone sitar string. I really like the guitar, and I would rather not return it. Any ideas on what it might be? And yes the string is under the string tree BTW.

Is the string buzzing open or fretted? Check the nut if buzzing open and the bridge saddle in both cases. Also make sure the action and neck relief are set properly.

All it probably means is that the nut slot needs to be filed slightly. It's not the end of the world.
