The best way to tell where (and when) it was made is by the serial number (check both sides of the headstock). The American Fenders made between 2000 and 2009 will have a serial number starting with a Z followed by a number signifying the year (Z6 would be a 2006 for example).
I can tell you that the American '52 reissue comes with a tweed case like you have pictured.

thanks for reply,
but I was told that the 52 reissue has no serial number on neither of the headstock.
just a g&g case does not mean this is a real American '52 reissue right?

and by the way, there's no case for Japan 52 reissue right?

RRR's info works for non-reissue USA Fenders; the reissues (American Vintage series) have a different serial number system. The '52 Tele should have the serial number on the bridge (right below the "Fender" logo and any patent/part numbers). I would think that the MIJ '52 Teles would have "Made in Japan" or "Crafted in Japan" on them somewhere near their serial number - which is probably on the back of the neck just above the heel.

WRONG. Fender vintage reissue serial numbers are always on the neck plate for the American made versions.

No, sorry but you are WRONG.

Yes the serial numbers for every other American Vintage model is found on the neck plate and begin with a "V". This is true for all of the Strat models, bass models, Jazzmaster, Jaguar, and even the '62 Tele Custom because that is where Fender put the serial number after about 1954. However, the serial number on the AV '52 Tele is in fact on the bridge and the neck plate is plain because that is how they were in the early 1950s. The 2004 AV '52 Tele I had was like that - it even had a little certificate with the serial number in case you removed the 3-saddle bridge and installed the 6-saddle bridge found in the case.

Just to make sure they haven't made a recent change I looked at a new one for sale at Elderly Instruments in Michigan; I snagged these photos from their listing for a new AV '52 Tele.

Here is the plain neck plate:

And here is the bridge with the serial number:

I notice that Japan made 52' ressiue tele always write"Made in Japn" on the back of the neck, over the neck plate.
I got new photos of this guitar, which more convince me this is an American made.
still asking for pics for the front of the head, the clearly bridge part.

No, you're WRONG. My bandmate's '52RI has a blank neckplate. The serial # is on the bridge as stated by JohnC

Technically since these are just numbers without a prefix they will often turn up as being "recycled" from the late 50s/early 60s on those dating sites - like MitchL found out when he ran his 2011 AV'52 through one.

To get the date of the guitar either take the neck off as MitchL suggests or send Fender's consumer relations team (consumerrelations@fender.com) the number part from your Tele - the "15680" that is stamped on the bridge as PowderedToastMan suggests. Fender's CR team should be able to tell you at least when it was shipped out to the original dealer.

The serial number on my Japanese '52 is (was) on the bridge plate. The previous owner put a 6 saddle bridge on it. I am planning on changing back to the 3 saddle bridge but I misplaced it and have no idea where it is.
