Hi. New here..but after lots of lusting of Custom Deluxe Teles, what kicked them all over the shop but a blonde 52 Hot Rod. Collect it next Friday having decided to put money down. Sweet sound, juicy in fact. Think that might be her new name. :-). While on subject, the 60th Hot Rod with the full bucker has new improved brass saddles. Are these as good as Callahams or Glendales people? Will these ever be released as an upgrade? Man of many Tele questions. Cheers!

Are aftermarket saddles any better? If they're already compensated then the answer is probably not. Save your money.

It was collected, it is beautiful in every way. Getting sperzels on for quick changes of string. Saddles I am keeping at mo for the tone. It can.do anything required. Highly recommend it for...anything really. :-))

Be aware that the HR52 has vintage style tuners on it and as such modern style tuners are not drop in replacements. The peg holes may have to be reamed out to accommodate the new tuners.

I have the same model 52'. I love the axe. I like the vintage tuners also. Very easy to string up quickly. Just do the old..... Two tuners past the string you are stringing and cut stick it in the hold bend and wind.

Takes me no time with the tuners to change strings.

Thanks frank. I've been looking for a good "rule of thumb" on vintage tuners. I'll check this out with my next string change. How do you do the last two? I suppose the B string you could just take to the end of the headstock and the E string you could come back around two pegs. Anybody else have a method for how much to leave when cutting off the strings for vingage tuners?

I just pull the string back from the post by 2.

So on the Low E pull the string then put your fingers on sting next to the post and pull it back 2 tuners.
