Hi there,
I have what I believe to be a 1950's replica telecaster. I don't think it's original? It's very heavy and feels exactly the same as I have played an original before.
It has no serial number or distinctive markings on it what so ever. Could anybody shed some light on this guitar for me.. and what it might be worth?

Many thanks!

It looks like a '52 Reissue to me.

Slot-head screws on the tuning machines are correct for a '52RI, but shouldn't the neck bolts be slot-head too? I've never owned a '52RI but I think all the screws should be slotted instead of phillips if this is an all-stock '52RI. The pickguard screws, control plate screws, and bridge screws should definitely be slotted, and probably the strap button screws too.

I realize the type of screws don't really matter if it's a good-playing guitar but it helps when trying to guess what you have.

If it's a '52RI, there should be a serial number stamped on the bridge.

Can you post more and larger pictures?

Just found this at Sweetwater - a picture of the back of a '52RI showing slotted neck screws:

You might be able to compare your guitar to the good pictures at that link and decide for yourself if it's a '52RI or not.

Ah yes... Thanks guys. That is the guitar. Also the last place I looked was on the pick up area. It reads 'Pat pending 14957'. So it must be a 52 re-issue!
