Not a factory Fender; it's been pretty well modded. The neck looks like a legit American Series from 2006-ish. The body doesn't look like any typical Fender body or have a typical Fender finishes. The bridge looks like one of those Callaham replacement bridges for original American Standards/American Series that are supposed to be somewhat closer to vintage Teles - at least they use vintage-style Tele saddles. This one appears to have the 6-saddle version; Callaham also had a 3-saddle version.

Since I can't tell from the photos what the pickups are I can't tell you if the guitar just has a replacement body and bridge or if the only Fender piece is the neck. It is a nice looking Tele done with nice parts.

Edit - see below; sorry, I really blew this one. That's what I get for posting late at night.

This is a total parts guitar with forged decals on the neck.

You could email Fender consumer relations on consumerrelations@fender.com and send them the serial number and they should be able to tell you the original spec of the guitar that had that serial number.

The logo on the neck is typical of an American Series/American Standard Telecaster.

But, there's no truss rod access hole at headstock and the neck has 21 frets instead of 22.

The bridge looks like the toploader bridges used on pre-1998 MIM Standard Telecasters. Do the strings go through the body?

The gap between the control plate and the pickguard isn't typical of a Fender Telecaster, nor is the pickguard.

That said, the bound body looks great.

My guess: a Telecaster assembled by an individual from parts - maybe Fender parts, maybe not.

Can you post pictures of the front and back of the headstock?

Damn - George is correct and I completely missed that on the neck when I looked at this thread yesterday. I thought I saw 22 frets in the one photo so I didn't even look for the truss rod plug.

That puts the entire guitar into question - it's not even a real Fender neck so the entire thing is a parts guitar with parts from various sources.

One other pic shows string through but there are no more pics except the case which has a Fender logo. How I came across this. I watch local craigslist ads and have never seen this tele. But when I put out a ad LOOKING for a good Fender for my money...This popped up in my inbox. No ad, just a responder. I was aware I had to be wary. I have contacted customer relations at Fender we'll see if I get mail back.

Buying a Deluxe players strat today. Unless something else in the store pops out at me. Brand new, no risks.

BTW..........no fish here!l

browzer52 - to upload photos you have to put them on some type of hosting site like photobucket or flicker; then use the links that have IMG tags on them.

Sorry to tell you but you do have a forgery - the guitar does not match up in any way, shape or form to specs FoxForSale received from Fender for the serial number. Forgers have gotten pretty good about copying real Fender serial numbers so unless someone does go the extra mile and get the specs from Fender it will turn up as "real" when you use a guitar dating site.

Needless to say that I am rather dissappointed as this guitar was purchased online and represented as authentic.Have ordered a proper pick guard to enhance the appearance but this still does not make it right.Have learned a valuable lesson here with the help of a few members and a personal meeting with a potential buyer. Thanks to all of you for tuning me in.
