Hi All,
I just got a new 60th Vintage '52 HR Tele from MF in BB..... I've read the post and apparently there are 3 52 vintage HR's. 1-small HB regular bridge (plate unkown) 2-60th small HB adjustable bridge (trlrbration plate) 3-60th regular HB adjustable bridge (telebration plate). I go the more expensive one that said 60th but it came with the small HB not the full size, telebration plate and adj bridge. After further review the pics on MF of what pick up is in it does not really match the description about the pick up. While it is a fantastic piece I do want to make sure I'm getting what I paid for since the one in the pic had a full size HB. Anybody have any first hand info on this? Thanks!

I think MF have messed up in their advertising. Firstly I can't find another dealer that has the Telebration Hot Rod 52 yet apart from MF, and secondly if you look at this page on mf:

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/guitars/fender-60th-anniversary-vintage-hot-rod-1952-telecaster-electric-guitar

They have two images up there for this item and guess what? They're not two images of the same guitar as one has a full sized humbucker and the ohter has a mini humbucker.

Thirdly all the other dealers show the Telebration Hot Rod 52 as having a full sized humbucker (though they don't have the guitar yet they have example photos from Fender).

Two options that are open to you (I'm sure there are more but I'll just point out two), is get in touch with MF and ask them if they can clarify which guitar they have actually sold you (you may want to query the price and ensure you've been charged correctly), in the mean time you could email Fender Customer Relations with the serial number and ask them if they can tell you exactly which guitar it is and ask them to send you the spec sheet, their email address is: consumerrelations@fender.com

I'd be interested to know how you get on with this so give us an update when you have some progress.

I'd be interested to hear what they said, but I do like the mini 'bucker.

May I suggest that what you have here is a vintage hot rod 52 tele with a 60th anniversary neck plate (please confrm it has the plate).

Basically a normal VHR 52 with the special plate. If you refer to the page below at Sam Ash the Telebration VHR 52 was due to be the fifth tele in the telebration series released in september.

Previously released info on the series said it woud have a full SD humbucker in the neck position.

I cannot recall it being issued I could be wrong but there have already been eight Telebrations issued and the Telebration VHR 52 is one of the last 4 to get issued.

http://www.samash.com/opencms/opencms/s ... ation.html

Contact Fender as suggested and see what they say.

Just to clarify a small point (and not to contradict anyon), I seem to remember hearing and reading that all USA made Teles in 2011 regardless of weather they were a Telebration or not would have the 60th anniversary neck plate on them so even if you bought an American Standard Tele that was made in 2011 it would have the 60th anniversary neck plate on it.

So of course this would include the AVRI 52 Reissue and the Hot Rod 52 Reissue that were made in 2011.

Yeah that's right I have a MIM standard that has the special neck plate but the FSR MIM Standard in silver burst with a 2011 serial number doesn't have the special plate nor does the 2011 modern player tele plus I got just before Xmas.

Go figure!!!!

Yeah, dude that is not a Telebration HR 52. That's the standard HR52. The Telebration version has a full size Seymour Duncan '59 in the neck position.

This is the regular HR52:

This is the Telebration HR52:
http://www.americanmusical.com/Item--i-FEN-0170150-LIST

The regular HR52 is priced at $1699.99 and the Telebration version is $1799.99. Not sure which you ordered, but if it was supposed to be the $1799.99 version then the store has sent you the wrong guitar.

And yes, all of them have the 60th anniversary neck plate.
