Hello everyone!
I've recently bought a Fender Tele from 1989 in Gunmetal Blue..
It's weighs a bit but sounds ace and it's a solid bugger which is exactly what I wanted.
Just out of interest does anyone know what wood Fender used for their
Standard Tele's in the late 80's?
Thanks

For the most part Fender has using alder for most of the their main stream guitar since the '50s. It's not too expensive and has a really nice tone.

Gun Metal Blue is a pretty rare and sweet color. Congrats!

There's a chance that you might have a solid one-piece body
of northern ash in that Tele, given the weighty feel.
