Hey all, new to the board and also first time Fender owner! Seen it at a local Guitar Center and I stopped and played it and I fell in love with it. The employees didnt know too much about it there besides its an 05-06 tele deluxe. I asked if its a Nashville tele and they said its not but I do believe they may be wrong. Its the 3 pickup model and they said it was just a special run. The serial number is MZ5180196 and the color is Amber. I searched online and i couldn't find any Nashville teles in Amber color except one on ebay with a Bigsby. Has anyone ever come across one of these? Also, what do you think they should go for? I only took the one pic but I'll get a few more once i get it cleaned up and restrung. Thanks guys!

Sorry for the large pic!

I believe you're correct in that it is a Nashville Tele. I don't remember that color either; maybe it was a special run for GC or some other dealer in that color.

Im pretty sure its a special run of guitars for gc. Another forum member posted the catalog with a pic of the guitar. I seem to remember s1 switching being a feature, is the true of your guitar?

Looks to be the same guitar as my Honey Blond Nashville. If you have the 5 way switch that Impulse7 was asking about I'd say welcome to the club.

Cheers,
John.E

Actually the s1 control should be a push button on the tone pot. It allows for the bridge pickup to be added to the pickup selection regardless of where the 5 way switch is positioned.

Check it out, im keen to know if its there :)

it was second hand, one small nick on the bottom and other than that its like new. as for the s1 switch, this has the 5 way switch without any push pull pots, but im already looking into finding a way to do a couple of things, id like to be able to combine the bridge and neck pickup together, and id also like to find a way to get these pickups out of phase. i have a les paul with the jimmy page wiring and i love the out of phase sound, hopefully it sounds just as cool with these twangy single coils. i love the tex mex bridge and middle pickup but I
not crazy about the neck pup, seems a little dark to me

kpuhak13, on closer inspection of your pictures, it sure looks like theres a S1 switch on your tone pot. An S1 Switch is actually a button on top of the tone knob, and it looks like its currently indented. This switch on a tone pot is not a push pull tonepot (as you've stated above, none of your pots are push pull), heres a pic of one taken apart.

If I'm wrong I'm wrong, but try pressing on the top of the tone knob, in the middle and see if it switches.

What IS a "Nashville"? My understanding is that it has three coil pickups for electric and six piezo pickups built into the saddles for acoustic sound, with a Y patch cord (acoustic/electric).
Is a Mexican Nashville worth less than an American? are the parts of identical quality?
I have a Mexican Deluxe Series, which I think is a Nashville. The electric sound function is perfect but the acoustic function is marred by the fact that the A string saddle piezo pickup buzzes with static.
Anyone had that problem? Expensive to repair? Repairable? What's the cause? How much for a new piezo saddle-pickup?

The Nashville with the Piezo Pickups is called the Power Nashville. And if your the Original Owner Fender should fix it for you

Generically a "Nashville" Tele is a Telecaster with a middle position pickup wired so you can get the Strat's in-between sounds - the name comes from this having been a fairly popular guitar modification among session players in Nashville over the years.

There have been a few American "Nashville" Teles over the years:

1. James Burton Signature Tele - these are more of a Strat with a Tele body since they use a Strat-type hard tail bridge instead of a Tele-style bridge with a metal plate. The originals had 3 Lace Sensors (the same set as a Strat Plus Deluxe - blue logo in the neck position, silver logo in the middle position, and red logo in the bridge position); they now use some other kind of noiseless pickup made by Fender that I think are supposed to be like Bardens without exposed rails - don't know as I've only seen the older Lace Sensor model in person.

2. Tele Plus version 2 - made from late 1995 to the end of 1997. Fender revamped the Tele Plus to a "Nashville" version with 3 Lace Sensor pickups. All are the "vintage voiced" gold logo pickups; the neck pickup is Tele-sized with a chromed cover, the middle is Strat-sized with a chromed cover, and the bridge is Tele-sized with a black cover. Model uses the American Standard Tele bridge with a plate.

3. American Deluxe Tele version 1 - only made for about a year in 1998; used a Vintage Noiseless Tele neck pickup, a Vintage Noiseless Strat middle pickup, and a Vintage Noiseless Tele bridge pickup. These were only made for a year or so; then Fender dropped the middle pickup and the American Deluxe Teles from then on only have 2 pickups. There may have been a version of this with the Fishman Power Bridge during the transition from the 3-pickup version to the 2-pickup version.

4. American Standard Tele B-Bender - Not sure if these date back to the original American Standard run (1987-2000) or if they start with the American Series run (2000-2007) but they have a middle Strat pickup as well as the Fender B-bender mechanism.

The MIMs are as others have mentioned - one with a regular vintage-style Tele bridge and the one with the Fishman Powerbridge that you have.

USA guitars always cost more than the MIMs new or used. In this case the USA "Nashville" Teles are really kind of rare so they typically command higher prices than say same year Strat Plus or a American Deluxe Strat.
