As some of you might have seen on my introduction thread, I was in the market for a Tele. The good news is, on my family vacation to Singapore recently, I managed to 'drop by' at one of the guitar store there, played it for a while and 15 minutes later, I loading it into my car. Got myself a SKB hardcase too, since they don't have any Fender's.

These were my criteria earlier. This guitar cover most except the color. But I am not complaining. White is cool too
1. Pups - No humbucker. Whatever series. I need to experience this to know what I like.
2. Fretboard - Maple
3. Fret size - Jumbo or at least medium jumbo fret
4. Body wood - Not sure, but no basswood or mahogany.
5. Neck profile - No clue. I'll take anything since it will be my first Tele.
6. Color - Preferably red, or cream colored.
7. Bridge - Hardtail.

I'll post some photo once I snapped a few.
But this is how it looks like
Fender American Special Telecaster - Olympic White

How do I feel, and how does it sound? I probably don't need to state the obvious..

This probably sounds crazy, but I suddenly have a GAS for a MIJ/CIJ Fender Blue Flower Reissue Telecaster.

EDIT: Photos. Great guitar, lousy photographer.

That looks beautiful, congrats, the black pick guard on white is a very classic look. I think that getting the SKB case is probably a good move too.

Thank you all. The feel of maple fretboard is super. Now I understand why tele is a great guitar. I am loving the tone, the feel and it's playability.

I store all my guitars in hard cases. So, it's a necessity for me.

This guitar sports a Custom Shop Texas Special Tele set - built to produce increased output, presence and midrange.

Image

The nickel/silver cover on the neck pickup produces a clear warm tone that only a true Custom Shop Tele pickup can do. These overwound pickups use Alnico 5 magnets and enamel coated magnet wire.

The bridge pickup features height-staggered magnets and a copper plated steel bottom plate.

Another interesting feature is the Greasebucket tone circuit, which employs a special capacitor slightly reducing the highs without adding bass.

As a result, your sound is not muffled as you'd normally expect from a regular tone control.

I have an original 68 blue floral. I've played the reissues and they don't feel the same. Still, I love your white one.
