Why do you want to replace the neck? Is there something wrong with it? A Fender neck could end up costing as much as the guitar itself. Makes little sense to me for one extra fret.

Bear in mind that the extra fret has to be on an overhanging extension of the fingerboard, otherwise the scale length will be wrong and you'll never get it intonated properly.

No problem with the 22 the fret and the scale. The scale won't change because the fret is a fretboard extension to the neck pickups. Scale between the nut and saddle will be the same.

My opinion to buy a new neck on Squire ; better to buy a new guitar guitar, neck is too expensive. If you are a good guitar player to need a 22 th fret, in few months you'll need a better pickups and after....you buy as American Standard or more high end.

thanks everyone for the replies. am now going for a cv tele instead (a white one).i saw it in a guitar shop today, after i had sold my 360 and games to pay towards a new telecaster.it is a beautiful guitar tbh :D i tried it out through a mustang 1 amp (but am awful at playing a guitar, especially in a guitar shop).the guitar sounded fantastic though  :D the bridge pick up had a growl to it (if that makes any sense) and once i added some gain, holy mother :D the neck sounded really smooth.i quickly paid a deposit on the guitar, and will be picking it up next thursday :D this will be my first proper tele (with single coil only pick ups  i will be keeping the neck on this guitar (from what little playing i had on the guitar, the neck felt really nice tbh).i cannot wait to get/start playing it :D
