Hi everyone,

I just wanted to know if anyone can help me out with small repairs to my Modern Player Telecaster Plus.

I just got it and I got a small nick in the finish. I know things like this would give the guitar character but being that it is brand new I wanted to know if there was anything I could do to fix it. Its a small dent in the finish that doesn't go through to the wood.

Thanks

I picture would help. Poly is very tough and usually thicker than other finishes.
If it is just a dent and the finish is not cracked you may be able to fill in and polish. I would consider talking to a furniture maker in your area.
Stewart-Macdonald.com has a Tradesecrets newsletter that covers many minor repairs They might have an archive of previous newsletters. I have a bunch saved on this computer, but the one that covered a similar problem was on my dead computer.

I bought a Tele from a friend. It was emaculate.
Within the first 10mins of owning it i banged it against a wooden arm on a chair and put a groove in it.
I was so gutted. I know what you mean about it being new and...well its your baby and you want it ace.
I enquired about having it filled and sprayed at various guitar shops.
[All the people i spoke to looked at me like i was a nut.]
I ended up putting a sticker on it. [Which looked worse than the groove.]
One day i pulled the sticker off. Its mine. Its my groove. I play this guitar.

Accept it & let time pass!!
