I just bought a USED MIM Telecaster.

S/N MN6 + 6 digits...

The Fender site says that MN6 + 5 digits indicates 1996-97, but it makes NO REFERENCE to MN6 + 6 digits...

Any idea?

Thanks!

I wouldn't worry about it. Rarely would someone try to fake a Mexican made guitar...the 6th digit may have been necessary due to production numbers increasing that year and they needed to add a digit to their serial numbers.

You can email your serial number to consumerrelations@fender.com and they usually get back to you within a day or so. They should be able to give you some accurate information.
