Hi everyone. I bought a new 60 years American standard tele about a month ago and the sound is great, but one thing keeps bugging me. It's about the 6th sting goes out of tune (about a half-step below) and it happens due to the upper screw on it's saddle goes loose all the time. I'am actually a bit sick of bringing it back up all the time. Why does that happen? Any ideas how to fix it? :?:

Sympathetic vibrations and/or the hand resting on the saddle cause the problem.

Buy a small bottle of Loctite or equivalent. Properly adjust the offending screw, put a drop on said screw's threads where it mates with the saddle and let dry. That's it!

Maybe your screw is not tightened enough to hold the saddle in place. Be carefull with Locktite, some are glue in place your screw, some are light.

But your saddle should never nned this stuff, something wrong with your screw

i have a 6-saddle bridge
if you look at your guitar while playing there is an upper and lower screw for each saddle
i'am talking about the upper one for the 6th string

Swapped that saddle with the one from the 1st string. Gotta check if that'll help tonight. The tension and vibration are lower on high E, so who knows :)

In my experience with those types of saddles, the grub screws will rust and seize in there all by themselves over the passing decades if they are not turned for a long time or if the guitar is left unplayed in a case for a while. Therefore, I would not use locktight on them....because once they do rust, they may become non-adjustable. Besides, with seasonal adjustments to the action, you should have to periodically tweak these a little. Try replacing just the grub screw. I have never had a guitar that had the issue you are having......maybe someone really lubed up the threads in the saddle?

My 1st string bridge saddle does the same thing. I cured it with Loctite thread locker. Use BLUE, not red. Repeat ... do NOT use red.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Loctite is a kind of a super-glue, right? No such brand here in Ukraine :)

Put some paint on the tread. It will probably do the job

Well, swapping saddles didn't work. So I glued it as you guys suggested. Gotta see if that'll make any difference.
