Just asking you all if you think this pick guard would look good on my new Telecaster? I'm upgrading the pickups to Novaks and the tone and volume with an RS Guitarworks vintage upgrade kit, so I figured I'd change the pick guard too. Any suggestions are welcome. My other thought was a mirror pick guard.

I'm not personally a big fan of paisley but the colours do seem to go well together and the guitar could use something with some pattern to it. I say if paisley floats your boat, go for it.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

You know what you guys might be right. I'm going to keep looking.

Here are some other choice I came up with. Gray ones-
Clear Gray - won't come up from ebay. If anyone can help on down load pictures from Bay I'd appreciate it!

I have seen a pickguard site, but I can't find it again now, that allowed you to show the pickguard on a representation of the guitar body. It let you pick the body color, and then try different color pickguards on it. Kind of like the Fender Guitar Builder on this site, only much more realistic. You might try searching for something like that, or maybe someone else has seen the site and remembers the URL.

I personally prefer parchment or pearloid depending if the guitar is solid color or if you see the wood grain. But, that is a pretty cool paisley paisley pick gaurd, I would use it with that body color. You really won't be sure until yu put it on.

I've accumulated 4 Tele guards - - White, Black, Tortoise and Pearloid.

I spend more time playing than changing them though. I did like those
Teles that Fender gave to the winners of the CMA awards last night too.

So in my search for that perfect pickguard I found a place that makes custom pickguards - axetremecreations.com.

Something else influenced me, I'm really catholic - love Jesus and Mary. Pickguards with the image of the Shroud of Turin looked pretty cool and then it dawned on me, the blue and white color of the tele is very marian, so I thought of C.B. Chambers Our Lady of the Rosary. I contacted axetreme and this is what we came up with - the pickguard is on the way!!!! I think it looks pretty rad. I'll post pictures once everything is done.

It will be my pleasure. Bear with me though, I have to do some work on my car. Then I'm putting in a vintage control system from RSGuitarworks, pickups by Curt Novak, Babicz bridge and vintage tuners. So I might be a couple weeks.

Warmoth has a site that allows you to set up a picture w/your guitar specs. WD Music has a great choice of pickguards, colors, patterns & graphics. I just bought one from WD & their service & attitude were as good as it gets. JB
I just checked the WD Music U.K. & the US site has more choices.
I'm now building an MIM Thinline tele for my brother, serving in Afghanistan, for Christmas. He went w/the 3 ply black/red/black guard from WD Music on the clear ash finish. Do you believe how much they charge for a piece of plastic?? I'm cutting out my own the next time but I'm pressed for time right now. The only tool I might need is the 45 degree router bit w/collar to put the bevel on it. WD has a 20% discount until midnight tonight(12-12). They would be glad to talk to you so call 'em. Thanks
