i just purchased a fender telecaster guitar. love the way it feels and plays but sound not sure of. I like playing an acoustic for the sound but when my electric is pulgged into my fender mustang II amp it sounds great when i pick around on it or strum individual strings slowly but when I strum chords it just does not sound clear. it sounds kind of distorted and not clean. like playing gospel songs and it is not sounding great. maybe it is my amp set up, probably just me. hope someone can help

Try adjusting the settings to a clean patch on your
amp, then make sure that your effects chain is not
causing the distortion.

It won't sound like your acoustic, but you surely should
be able to get a clean tone. Good luck!

I agree with Mike. It must be something with the way the amp is set. Try some eq my friend.

If you're using the '57 Deluxe and Bassman models on the amp,
you can also roll down the volume for some clean tones.

Hi Bruce,
I found with my Tele, it sounds "cleaner/brighter" when I keep the Master Volume on the guitar really low, and just crank it up on the amp... maybe this'd work for you?

I Agree. Mustang amps are highly sensitive to the guitars volume control. Play around with it, you'll find even a little roll back can make a big difference depending on what amp settings your using. I like this as I can control the gain and distortion with the volume knob and not a foot switch. 8)
