Hi.

I have a 1976 custom color Telecaster thin line, which I paid £1000 for in 1997.
The color I was told is foam green, but it looks a little darker than what I can find online and from what I can gather this custom color was only used in the sixties.

I was wondering how much it might be worth now. Plays like a dream, the easiest guitar I ever played, got two humbuckers, and sounds fat and warm, I can post some pics if needed.

Cheers.

Dennis.

Welcome to the forum and nice guitar, looks to be all original too! Would think the value around $2100 - $2500. The color sure has faded to an odd color, almost olive green (unless it was the lighting). Lot's of checking on the finish, but some folks pay extra for real relicing.

Thanks for the pics, nice.

Good looking Tele! The only thing I notice is that the knobs to me look like they're brass in the pictures, like the old knobs Charvel was selling as replacement parts back in the day. Could just be lighting.

Thanks for the comments.

Yeah the Knobs are brass, I cannot vouch for these being original, they may have been replaced at some point.

Right on! hey, even though those aren't original, those Brass parts from the 70/80s have a cult following of their own, and are worth a good chunk of change themselves. so no biggie! haha

Very cool looking Tele - could it possibly be an ice blue or lake placid blue where the top coat has yellowed? I've seen a lot of Gibson's in their color called "pellham blue" (which is in-between ice blue and lake placid blue) that yellowed-out to a green color like that. Also I can't tell from your photos if the base coat is blue or silver where the top coat has flaked off.

At any rate that is a really nice Tele!

When I bought it I was told it was custom color Foam Green.

I toured with this guitar for a few years, probably played 500+ gigs with it but it been in it's case or hanging on my wall, out of sunlight for the last 7 years.
