you can cut a tele pick guard to accomodate a strat pup in the neck position ...i've done it with a dremmel tool ...

i have no idea how you would get a single coil strat in a tele bridge ....i have seen guys get a new bridge plate that is slotted for a humbucker and route the cavity as well ....but a single coil ....not sure ....

i also think that could sound quite bad ....the strat pup in the bridge ...but that's just IMHO

A Strat pickup will fit in the neck position without the cover. You would need to protect the windings with some tape or some sort of covering.

The only way I could see the Strat pickup fitting into the exsisting Tele bridge would be to cut the tabs off the bobbin and the cover. Mount a Tele baseplate to the Strat pickup so you will have a way to adjust the pickup height. There are some other finer details you would have to do in order for it to work. But it seems like alot of work to me for something that you may or may not like in the end.

I agree with Sammy, not really a pickup I would choose for a Tele bridge.

Why did you decide on the Strat pickup for the bridge?

As for the bridge you should be able to drill new holes.
The tele neck pu screw holes are not as wide as the strat pu so even if you take the cover off it won't fit quite right. you may even have to route the cavity wider I did

I just put a Strat pickup in the neck position of my Tele and didn't have to rout the body and it was without the cover. Maybe I just got lucky. I also just screwed it to the body like the Tele pickup.

I'm not quite sure where your going to drill new holes for the bridge pickup? If it's a vintage style bridge, the tabs on the Strat pickup are going to be too wide. That's why I suggested cutting off the tabs and mouting the Tele baseplate to provide adjustment. I also don't think the bridge rout is wide enough to accomodate the Strat pickup as is.

I'm still really not sure why you would want a Strat bridge pickup in your Tele? But, to each his own.
