Hey,

I'm looking to reverse the angle (think Hendrix) of my Tele's bridge pickup, the highs are too cutting for my setup. Does anyone know what the routing is like under a 2007 Mexican Standard Telecaster? I had the pups replaced but that was done by a shop so I have no clue what the routing is like. I know the neck has a humbucker sized cavity, but no clue about the bridge.

Thanks a lot!

Devon

Buy a left handed bridge if you're right handed. You'll have to think up a way to mod it.

I know I need a lefty bridge, I just don't know what the routing is like underneath and I'd rather find that out here instead of take the bridge off in the meantime.

It's a very odd shape. It's sort of an oblong pentagon. But just rout it as a full square and get a left handed bridge. I personally like the G&L bridges, so I have one. Try it out.

Before you go butchering a perfectly good guitar, have you tried lowering the bridge pickup and maybe setting the bass and treble sides to the same height instead of slanted up from bass to treble? The Tele is designed that way for a reason and a bright, cutting sound is part of that design. Maybe try cutting the treble and increasing the bass on your amp too. Any of those solutions would probably be more effective than putting in a wrong way facing bridge and pickup.
