There seems to be quite a few '72 Tele Thinline owners out there, whether that be original or RI.

So, if you got one, chime in and post pics. What style do you play?
Have you kept yours stock or have you modified it? Why did you pic this particular guitar? Any problems?

I was lookin for a new guitar to replace my old 80's pawn shop special and I wanted something that was versitile and had a warmer sound than a traditional tele. I also really dig the look.

Here she is:

its the only shot I got.

Oh Man, I played one of these in G.C. over the weekend and fell in love. I have to get one. I was playing through a Mesa Stilletto and was able to get tones from sparkling jazz to dirty blues and even a shredding hard rock (I dare say even metal, but that is heresy with a Tele) tone. This thing can do it all, and the pickups didn't seem all that bad either. I want.

Looks like the 69 and the 72 (at least the RIs) both have a 7.25 radius "U" shaped neck. All the stats are listed on the Fender main sight.

Ya, the first time I played mine, the deal was sealed. I went online to check some reveiws and they all loved it, particularly its versitility.

One big issue is that if you don't like the pickups, they are not so easy to change out. Good thing I like them.

I have one I just bought two months ago and mine has the "C" neck. I am replacing the tuning machines (they are junk) but I love the sound and the action is fantastic. Not to mention that it is beautiful. I have the 3-tone sunburst and love it very much.

Hmm...that is odd. The Fender specs say "U" shaped. Is that stock? Looks like the 72 tele delux comes with a "C" neck. Perhaps it was switched out.

Also, what is wrong with the stock tuners? I know little of such things, so I'm just lookin for info.

And I have yet to personally see the sunburst on this model. I may have got that if I found one in stock. The natural look is cool, but the sunburst has a little more style in my opinion.

It is listed on the specs that are posted on line. I ordered it thru my local fender dealer. I am the first owner.

I bought my 72 thinline reissue a few weeks back and I can't put it down. I haven't even had a chance to get it adjusted yet and it plays outstanding. I play through either a 89 Fender Deville 410 or a VOX AC30 and both amps sound great. The only comment I would make is to be sure you don't by one off of ebay or musicians friend I would go in person and play the guitar before you buy it. Its a well known fact that no two guitars are the same. I played three different guitars before I settled on mine.

I dont know about you guys, but I am kinda disappointed by the lack of variety with the finishes for this guitar.

If you had your choice, what would you want in a finish?

with the magic of photoshop, I came up with this:

I personally like the colors it comes in. My favorite is the natural light blonde color with the thinline head stock. Every other guitar comes in sunburst. I like somthing different
