Hi Ya'll,

I have a new 60th Aniv Tele and thought I'd ask if anyone has had this happen with a Fender ele. guitar finish. First off, the humidity and temp in my music room is at 45%-50% and 70 (winter) & 75 (summer) degrees year around. I put my new Tele into my near new Fender G&S Tweed vintage case after I took my 1.5 yr. old Strat out of it. Left it about 3-4 weeks and just got it out today. On the back & sides (here & there) it shows marks in the finish like the crushed velvet etched the finish. Didn't do that with the Strat. However, it had hung out in the air for several weeks before it became a case dweller. The Tele was in the TSA Fender case when it arrived (was perfect finish then) and was put into the Vintage G&S Tweed case several weeks ago. What do you think about these questions or have you seen this?

Is the Tele gassing out and stuck to the fur on the vintage case or reacting in some way? Interesting piece is that there aren't any of these finish marks on the pup side of the body and none on the areas of the back or side where the case fur doesn't contact the guitar finish.

Long lines are showing thru the finish (like glue joint seams in the wood?) that run with the length of the body. Frt & back. Are these normal in Tele's & Strat's? My Strat is getting the same. None of these in any of my Ric's, Gibson's or Gretsch guitars so I didn't know.

Thanks for the advise. Right now the Tele is cooling his heals hanging up in the music room in case he's still gassing out. Still smells strong of Nitro to me.

Aster

Could be some weird chemical reaction. I know when hard cases sit for weeks they reek when you open them. Could be air chemicals O.O
