I've only owned 2 Tele's ,but it's the only guitar for me (looks, sound and feel). Other guitars don't compare in my opinion :)

I love my Teles, they all look and sound great! I agree it was the first and is still the best guitar out there. It can play anything, but you have got to reach into your soul, to really get her into the groove.

Any guitar can really be played anything on. You just have to know what you are doing. I like Teles but the one thing that really annoys me is the way the shape at the jack plug destroys the beautiful curve of the guitar by adding the straight line in there. That is the only fault (however superficial) I find that stops me from owning one.

Well, Aaron, you're in luck! There are many Teles made now that don't have that flat spot on the side. From where I am sitting here in the Music Room, I can see three Telecasters in three price ranges hanging on my wall that are nicely rounded and have, in fact, slightly curved flat jack plates on them, rather than the old round indented jack. These are a butterscotch Affinity, a trans-black pine Modern Player and a recently purchased FSR Ash with Texas Specials in aged cherry burst.

The Telecaster has evolved - now you can get one that well rounded!

Thanks, I have only ever paid attention to the real ones I have seen in person so just assumed the entire Fender Range have the origional LEO shape (with the straight at the Jack), things are looking up :D .

Not ugly, elegant in simplicity and functionality. It's that simplicity that will expose ugly playing ... or greatness.

Unlike the aerodynamic Strat, the Tele is a slab o' guitar. It's a bit awkward looking with its stumpy horn, it's oxymoron boxy-roundness. But that's why I love it. It's the most comfortable guitar I have.

It was designed to match the players' appearance.

I find its shape to be far prettier than the Strat or any guitar for that matter. Though it is simple in design and function, it has a vast range of tones that are unlocked by your ability.

Although I like the looks of most Fenders, the real beauty of the Telecaster is how they play. For that, I am in love!

I have one just like that and it's my favorite guitar to just kick back and enjoy the hell of it. It's a beautiful thing!
