Hey people!
I play in a Guns N' Roses style rock band using a MIM 72 Tele Custom reissue and wish to replace the pickups.

Is there any way of buying the Wide Range Enforcer from John 5's latest model or buying the regular uncovered Enforcer and fitting it to the casing?

I don't know if the casing on my WR RI will come off the pickup or not.

Could any of you reccomend a combination of neck humbucker and bridge single coil that kinda match while getting Guns N' Roses rhythm tones as well as glassy fender while retaining the look of the guitar?

[I play through a HR Deville 410 and am changing the power tubes to JJ 6L6GC's]

Finally, will upgrading my pots to 1meg or 500k help get a better tone?

Thank you for your help!
CC

What's wrong with your tele? Not trying to make a point or anything just tell us what you don't like about the sound.

The Humbucker is too muddy and the single coil not classic Fender/glassy enough.

The WRHB is awful.

Thanks.

If you hate the humbucker I suggest just getting a regular Gibson sized humbucker like a pearly gates or something. To do this you'll need to go to warmoth.com and get a new pickguard that'll fit a gibson hb in the bridge. For the bridge, you are in luck because this one will be much cheaper. You can either go on ebay and look for a genuine fender pup or shop around and look for something that will suit your needs. The project will cost like 200 bucks or so so kep that in mind.

You can also try the TV Jones Tele pickups, check them out, you'll get the humbucker sound and keep the twang that all teles are famous for. Great interview with John 5 in Premeir Guitar. You can always check for the John 5 pickups on Ebay. There are stores that always break down guitars and sell the parts

the enforcer pup would be great for what you play.
