I actually bought my telecaster less than two weeks ago, on the 25th, but what i didnt realize when i bought it was that the 9th fret is slightly sticking out, causing a heavy buzz on both E strings top and bottom so my questions are
1. is the fixing of that in the warranty?
2. do the changed pickguard and bridge cover i bought it with take away the warranty, and if not, would having it fixed have the changed/added parts (which the music store did before i bought it) taken off the guitar?

I agree on returning it and if you're familiar with the dealer
(repeat customer) they should help you out, even if not and
you have the bill of sale, they should make good on it for you.

I'd also change the cosmetics back to the way they were
when you bought it (just to be on the safe side).

Good luck!

That should be an easy in store fix for any tech, covered by the warranty.
