Well Tim I'm a big advocate of the Telebration series (all very limited runs), all on one page here at Sam Ash (I'm not an advocate of Sam Ash it's just convenient):

I've got a Lamboo on order, with a bamboo neck and bamboo laminated top and double bound:

And if you want a rosewood then there's one coming out in April acording to Sam Ash:

I must say I like the look of the Rosewood tele, but I like lots of the telebrations, the pine body 52' the double bound thinline, the hotrod 52' they're all so delicious, can't wait for my Lamboo to arrive in December.

And there's also the custom shop option, some retailers specialise in ready made custom shop guitars and have a long list of special teles to chose from such as here:

That bamboo one is awesome! I'd really like to check one of those out. And of course, I really like the rosewood! I didn't even know they were putting out this many tele bration models. I'm also really liking the Cabronita Tele-Bration model.
However, I think for my next Tele I'm going to build one with Warmoth parts. I could build something exactly to my liking without having to worry about the CS price tag. We'll see what happens.
Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

Tim, I too am a big fan of Tele's. I have the Blacktop model and I notice you do also. My favorite Tele's though are one's with a humbucker on the neck and a single on the bridge. I have a MIM about a 94 or 95 model thats been my go to guitar for a long while. I recently started playing my G&L ASAT Bluesboy. This ones a semi hollow body with the neck HB and bridge single and really puts out some great sound. The G&L is swamp ash body with ebony fret board and a beautiful guitar to look at and play. If you haven't tried a Tele with this pickup configuration you might find some really great sounds. 8)

Well, speaking of obscure Tele's, this one followed me home today. It's just visiting.
It's made in Korea but a beautiful guitar. It has the flame maple top, a set neck like my new thinline, 25.5" scale, 22 frets, the fret wires are larger than the medium jumbo's on my strat and tele. The nut is 42mm. It has Seymour Duncan Humbuckers, I'm not sure what model and the one switch lifts to split the coils. The neck is the strangest part, it's a very flat profile. I'm not sure what it would be called, maybe a D? It plays real nice. For some reason the large fret wire isn't bothering me like it did last week when I played a '72 Pawn Shop Strat with the jumbo wire. I like it, but I don't need another guitar right now.

Here's my Tele, chrome pickguard, chrome barrel switch, and a jazz bass bridge cover.

How about a John 5 Model, definetly a different take on the telecaster?
