My question is this: will an Am. Std. Strat neck pickup fit in the existing slots and cavities of my MIM Standard Tele? I have an old set of Am. Std. Strat pups lying around the house and am considering modding my Tele in this way.

Thanks in advance.

Ummm, pull the pickguard ftom the Tele and see if they fit. People install Strat pickups in Teles all the time. Even Fender sells them that way. Is any routing necessary? Well, in the amount of time it took to post your question and wait for an answer, you would already know.

I guess that's quickest way to find out. I was just hoping somebody had done this before and could tell me in advance, before I take things apart. Strings on my Tele are too new right now and don't want to trash a new set, so I'll wait until I restring it and check things out, if nobody else answers this. Thanks anyway.
