I'm thinkin about taking the finish off my telecaster and staining the wood to get that vintage telecaster look like '52 vintage tele. Has anyone ever done this or does anyone recommend doing it? If so what supplies should I use?

Ummm, 52 Telecasters were not stained, they were painted with nitrocellulose lacquer.

Nothing a new set of strings and an afternoon of toothbrush on the fingerboard, fret polishing, cleaning, waxing and buffing the body and the chrome parts while listening to at least 3 of your favorite cd's can't cure.

Leave 'er be,
