Fender Custom Shop Nashville Tele, 5 way toggle, Push-Pull Tone knob (still not sure exactly what it does, sounds like it cuts the mids a bit but either way down or up I love the tone)

Heres what it says on the front of the headstock below the fender emblem
DES. 164,227 PAT. 2,573,254. 2,784,631

Cool Tele; unfortunately I've not seen one like that before.

I would suggest posting this in the "Ask Mike Eldred" forumsto see what he says - considering he's the head of the Custom Shop he should be able to track this down for you.

Thank you very much, I will try that... I've had the guitar for 3+ years n have finally decided to take action on figuring this out b/c on the fender website it doesn't have any information on it

The guitar doesn't sport active electronics as it lacks off the extra rout housing a 9V battery and a PCB which are required to drive a built-in onboard preamp.

I think the push-pull simply activates both the neck and bridge pickups no matter any position of the 5-way selector you're using. This mod gives you no less than seven different pickup combinations.

This Tele would be more versatile with an S-1 switching system or a 2-way series/parallel toggle selector installed.

I thought that was the case as well but the sounds between different positions are different mainly noticeable in position 1 and 5, I'm not a fan of the S-1 switching. I still love this guitar to death. Thank you for your input, i've posted the same link in another one of fender forums n have gotten alot of help, I'm new to the forum but its great to have people out there willing to help or offer input

This guitar has a comfortably contoured back like a Strat and a bound top; it does lack off a contoured neck heel, a feature which was first introduced on the American Deluxe series in 2004.
