How big is your wallet?
You could spend hundreds of dollars on pups and never find "the" tone you want. A lot of pups are out there on Youtube but be careful on what you hear on YT...depending on how the YT recording was made, the amp, its settings, any pedal(s) in front, etc...could all change the perceived sound.

Many manufacturers WEB sites provide sound clips that you can use as a starting point as well.

BTW, just because it was Made in Mexico, it doesn't mean it necessarily needs an upgrade.
Yup, they may not be the "best" quality pups but they're not too bad either. And also what you hear from any of us for recommendations is thru our ears, not yours.

New pickups don't sound better but 'different'. Fender stock pickups are much better value for the dollar than any you put in. Fender uses quality pickups and they use them for a reason after 60 plus years of experience.

Changing the pickups is fine you are trying to achieve a specific sound. Good advice above. Go to the site of the manufacturers and listen to the various pickups.

Sound generated will depend much more on the player, the amp, the amp settings and any pedals used. Any pickups you hear on the web will also depend on their recording equipment and your receiving equipment.

The pickups in the Squire CV line are made in the Fender plant right next to the "real" Fender pickups. (They are TR AIIIs)

They are the best, no worries.

Play it for a couple of months, then if the stock pickups don't cut it for you soundwise (listen with your ears, not anyone elses) then start to look around for different pickups. Fender has a bunch of different types start there, then widen your search if you don't find something you like.

At $1000.00 for the set, these have to be the best pickups in the world. They'd probably really sound great in my Squier Affinity Tele.

I'd say USA made Texas Specials - They sound great in my Japanese Tele

so far i think the consensus on here has been to just leave your stock ones in and see if you like them over some more time.. i agree.
i really like the stock MIM's. they're hot but not too hot. they sound amazing clean, but can drive your amp if you need it. overall i think they're great.

however, if you're dead set on changing them out, i'd suggest samarium cobalt noiseless from Fender. they're a little hard to find right now, but they're worth the effort. they make them for strat's, tele's, P and J basses, but IMO they sound the best in Tele's and Jazzes :)

I've always liked Fender's stock Tele pickups. You know the ones that say something like, "vintage style single coil' on the spec sheet. I think they have great character and really pick up well on different picking techniques. However if I was going to swap out pickups, I'd go with Texas Specials.
