I would have been pissed if my string ferrules fell out of my new American Standard Tele. The guitar store, Fender consumer relations, and all of my fellow musicians would know what happened. It would probably keep them from buying one. Hear that Fender?
But, it was probably late on a Friday afternoon and some guy let it go. It happens.

The detent on the "no load" tone is a pain. I use the "no load" position when I turn the guitar volume down. It keeps the treble response up.

It says it has a no-load tone control in the Specs page. But what I meant was that there's no explanation of what that means, anywhere on the Fender site, that I can find.

UPDATE: I'm wrong - the Delta Tone and No-Load Tone Pot are explained in the downloadable document "Fender® Electric Guitars and Basses Owner's Manual (Current)", which can be found under Support / Knowledgebase / Product Manuals.

anyway-don't let a pot that is not perfect for you take away from a very nice guitar.

And fix the string ferrule problem, and move on. Don't let that detract from the guitar either!!!

That's what I plan to do - get those ferrules to fit snug somehow, or glue them in if necessary, and then enjoy an otherwise fine guitar. I just wanted to let Fender know that I wasn't happy about having to do that.

That document, "Fender® Electric Guitars and Basses Owner's Manual (Current)", is the same as the manual which comes inside the case. I know, I should have read it! I usually read manuals.

I'm going to leave the no-load tone pot on the guitar. I can get it replaced later if I really want.

I'd like to leave this thread on a positive note. Other than the ferrules issue, this is a really nice guitar, a classic, and I'm glad to have it. This is my first new, good-quality guitar. I'm looking forward to many years of enjoyment from it.
