Just bought a MIM coppermist FSR Telecaster (2010 model). What exactly makes this an FSR? And what type of pups are stock on this guitar and any recommendations regarding a pickup upgrade to get a good country/twang sound?

Thanks a bunch.

Reach out to SuperKid. He has the same guitar.

I know the finish is one of the Special things about it...

I believe it is the same as a standard Tele, but with a different finish.

I believe that in addition to the paint, the control plate for the pup switch and volume/tone is also different. All of the FSR Coppers that I have seen have the pick-up switch towards the bridge and the volume knob towards the neck.

Here's a recent photo. The control plate is reversed, which is fine by me, however the toggle switch seems to be reversed-wired. In the forward position I'm hearing the bridge pup and in the rear position I \'m hearing the neck pup. I can't believe this was Fender's intention.

I'm also considering a pickup upgrade. Still want to retain the twang though. Any thoughts.

No it isn't. It's more copper colored with a reversed control plate and black pickguard.

That's the one. What can you tell me about it? What makes it an FSR...type of pickups...and recommended pickup upgrade if any? Many thanks.

Looks like the only differences are the reversed control plate, the copper finish, and the vintage-style bridge.

vintage noiseless pickups,I think any way.Yes the plate is reversed but the switch should be too.if you what you describe is true then go in the guitar and flip it around.

Sorry, but I agree to disagree, respectfully. I just recently bought an MIM Standard Tele and the bridge on mine is the modern version, with six individual saddles, where the bridge on the FSR is the vintage style, with the two-strings-to-a-saddle configuration, with the three brass saddles. Don't know about the pickups in the FSR, but there is a major difference in the bridges.
