As long as its in a hard case I dont think it really matters. I tend to lay mine flat so they cant fall over, but I also sometimes stand them upright.

I hang mine on the wall. Probably not the best. I'd suggest in the case, either flat or on end (neck up). Its also a good idea to keep in a space with the least tempurature or humidity changes.

If you're comfy it's comfy, Keep it on a stand, show it off! If it's going to be in a case, I'd suggest laying it flat so you can keep it from falling.

Mine are all together on a stand, they seem to do ok. Easier to grab and play. Also takes up less room.
