Made in Mexico Standard versions of the Strat, P-Bass, and Jazz Bass are all offered with a choice of maple or rosewood fingerboard. The Standard Telecaster has a maple fingerboard only.

Why is the Tele the odd Standard out?

I'm pretty sure that blog is wrong, unless back in 2007 they had the option. Current specs:
http://www.fender.com/products/search.php?partno=0145102306 - no rosewood options.

Well then Im not sure.If youre bent on getting a MIM Tele with a rosewood you could always look for a used on at a guitar store or see if they just carry any.You could also e-mail Fender and ask them about it Im sure they would have the best answer for you :)
