Reading how Wild Rose wanted a "white" Highway One Telecaster got my mind to rolling. Just how many colors did Fender offer in ther Highway One Telecaster series? So I decided to off my memory of what I've seen, played and found on the web. So curse me and call me nuts but when you are through be adult enough to tell me what I got wrong and we will correct together!
Here goes
1. Flat Black
2. Honey Blonde
3. Daphne Blue
4. Midnight Wine
5. Gray
6. 3 color sunburst
If anyone knows more stock colors from fender on the discontinued Highway One Telecaster let us know. Again, I've come across dealers offering low prices to try to move their older merchandise, like the hwy1tele!!! Deals are out there if you comb the papers, net and stores. I enjoy playing mine and get many compliments off of the sound/tone I am able to acheive with my midnight wine and her AlNiCo III pickups! I want another, but I need to pay bills. I just hope some of the deals are still around when I am caught up!

Hi,
The original pre-upgrade Highway 1 (No Greasebucket with smaller Fender Headstock)were available in :

Three-color Sunburst (300),
Sapphire Blue Transparent (327)
Crimson Red Transparent (338)
Honey Blonde Transparent (367)

The upgraded Highway 1 with Greasebucket and large 70's Headstock were available in:

Three-color Sunburst (300),
Daphne Blue was discontinued early on
Crimson RedTransparent (338)
Honey Blonde Transparent (367)
Black

I believe there was also a chestnut color I can't remember the name of it.

I am pretty sure they never came in gray.

Well folks I may be running out of G.A.S. for spell. I may need to go to "GA" (guitar anonymous) briefly to help shake off the chills and pop my jaws and then go back into G.A.S.! Seriously funds are slim right now, but my eyes are still wandering!

I just got a brand new Highway One Tele, 3-TSB, maple neck dropped off today by the men in brown! Very nice, neck felt good, finish...well dull and thin exactly what I was expecting, but pretty none the less. Didn't get a chance to plug it in, just enough time to bust it out before lunch break was over. Didn't even have time to snap a pic. I was quite surprised to find the 60th neck plate on it, wasn't expecting it, every thing I had seen online had a plain smooth one on there. I'm glad I saw it on MF and snagged it. It will be my first tele, to add to my MIA standard, MIA deluxe HSS and MIA FSR HSH hand rubbed mahogany/maple.

Well done my friend.

You will have got one of the final rum of Highway One Tele's before they were discontinued, makes that bit more special with the 60th Anniversary plate on it.

I have 2 highways a sunburst one like yours and a limited edition butterscotch one.

congrats!!!!!

Just gave my son a Highway One for his B-day last Saturday. It is a sweet Telecaster. It feels ever bit as good as my 2005 52AVRI. His also has the 60th neck plate. HE was pretty happy as you can see...and so was I when I saw his reaction.

Thanks for the extra pics ukraider! She is pretty!

I found a sunburst Hwy One Tele today at a guitar shop. The guys had the thing listed at well over a grand and were giving it a "30%" off sell for over 800 hundred. Which if my math serves me correct it should have been in the $700 range. I thought they retailed at $999. Oh well, they really did not seem to be the brightest stars. I bought my Hwy Ones (Tele and Strat) for significantly less. I still was drooling over it and hey, who knows, a man might just be able to get them to come down. I know, "My name is Nolastrat and I am a guitaraholic..."

I had an interesting thing happen on Monday. I went into a shop, that will remain anonymous, to try out some amps with my Hwy One Strat (I know this is a forum for Hwy One Teles, I had not set it up yet, just bare with me). They had me check my case at the door and carry my guitar around to test the amps. While I was in the back of the store a guy comes in and slams some gear down on my brand new fender case (a case that usually comes with the American Deluxe models; see profile pic). Nobody says anything to me about it. I leave the store to find out I have a huge crack in the case and it is tore out of it's frame. I go back in and show the guy at the door. He scratches his head and does not know what happened. He gets the manager. He half listens to the story and says he will give me a TSA002 case. I said I want the same style case I had and I want it in the same (brand new) condition. He handed me over to the assistant manager who played around a little with "how did this happen" and then he finally remembered a difficult customer, being a jerk and slamming his equipment down on my case. He could not find the same case in the stockroom. They offered me a tweed case! Wow, where ever the horse shoe is stuck, I want it to stay! So, guess who's home it is now, the Hwy One Tele!!! I know a long story, but it was too good not to tell!!! And of course there are pics! I believe those cases retail for about $259!!!

The Hwy One Strat did not fit well, and so I fitted it for the Hwy One Tele!

I have a Midnight Wine exactly like yours. I got to get a hardcase for it. I've been keeping it in the padded Fender gig bag it came with. While I'm at it I should get a hardcase for my classic series 50s Surf Green Strat. I love the tone on mine! That greasebucket technology is pretty cool!

I was given a Fender Highway One Telecaster today, it's an unbelievable guitar for the price, the playability and the vintage look is exactly what I wanted in a guitar, there is a story that goes with this guitar that makes it special though..

I guess it's not that spectacular but the house of the previous owner burned down and many of his amps and his other Les Paul went down in the blaze but miraculously the Telecaster survived. It was disassembled by a cleaning company and put back together, looks like they did a good job bc it plays just as good as before. The fire enhanced the aged look of the Highway One but adding some soot marks here and there, nothing major small marks around the head stock, the pick guard is completely cigarette stained color and theres some black gunk here and there around some of the edges, but all in all this thing survived a fire that the house around it didn't! It's magic! just kidding. but I'm a happy owner of the guitar now.

The owner of the house was my Father, who I helped purchase this guitar when he got it but since he had the fire he thought he lost everything so he bought a Fender Telecaster Deluxe 60th Anniversary which is a great great tele.

Sorry about your father losing his house, especially his guitars. A little bright note on the Telecaster, it's been through the fire and tested!
