Thanks for all the encouragement and sharing of info and gear pictures over the years. Imageshack has contacted me and told me that unless I pay them a minimum fee per month, my images will not be served out. Good old greed. I'm an I.T./I.S. degreed instructor and in the business over the years. So much money is made off of our information which we are not paid for we just give them money and in return they ask for more. I say this to let you know that my pics of my gear that are being served out by this company that has made millions (and possibly more) off of our data will no longer serve it out. So you will see many blank areas. I am sorry for this. Used to any of your I.S.P. providers would let you serve information. Again that is is being taken away. I don't have the time to go through all my pictures but I hope you have enjoyed them. I had hoped to put others from other Fender Highway One purchases including Telecasters and my prized Highway One Texas Tele Blonde that has the round string guide, 21 frets and other '50's appointments including the infamous Fender '50's Vintage pickups not the infamous Texas Specials, which sound good in their own right. Many people have gotten that confused. I have and wanted to post the specs by Fender for The Highway One Texas Teles that only came in two colors Dual Burst and Blonde. Mine is one my best, if not the favorite gear. Again I want to apologize that I didn't look to the future better to preserve the photos along with this blog which seems to have given many a great deal of information, joy and comfort in buying, selling and trading our gear. Sincerely, Nolastrat

With an IT/IS degree, you should be able to set up your own web server.

Exactly my point above if you read it all. Use to Internet service providers gave you webspace to serve out data. I did for years. Now they have taken that away from their package. I don't have the extra money now to buy the space, to buy a new computer to serve out my data, the money to buy a line T1/T3 etc, as well it would be a misuse of money.

Exactly. I used to run my owner server but you can't do that free anymore by piggy-backing on an existing ISP. I actually had mine set up so that people I knew could dial in; then later, I hooked that up to a Web page. But those days are gone. Then too, there's the matter of effort and reliability. In my case, all it took was that first time that someone didn't accept that I was doing it all for free and on my own time. "No," they told me in a very angry phone call, "if you offer a service, then it needs to be up and up to snuff regardless of what you charge."

I wasn't about to move to a paid commercial service or hire a 24/7 tech to sit in my den. So like many good ideas, it came and went. By then, the Web had been established, people were used to forums (like this one), so there really wasn't any value-add I could think of to running a paid private site. End of an era.

No doubt. Point taken. Web interests change monthly anymore.
