I have an American Tele (off white with a rosewood fretboard) from 2003 and it is the one guitar out of my whole collection that I will never part with.

To record our album I used my Tele for a little over half the record (drop-D tuning), through a Marshall. The style is rock/grunge and I thought it sounded great. I use a Boss EQ on it to thicken the sound for heavier stuff and remove it occasionally for cleaner tones. I considered buying a Jim Root Tele for the heavier stuff, but an EQ does the job.

It you want to check out the sound we got, our album is downloadable for FREE at: www.noisetrade.com/havelock

The songs featuring the Tele are: 'Something That Matters', 'Where You Are', 'Not Yet', 'My Apologies', 'Broken', and 'Wonderful'.

Thanks.

Jon

You did a good job with the guitar I like it a lot and its weird hearing that out of a Tele for me since I usually play clean with the bright setting on my Fender Hot Rod Deville 2x12 :) I like everything about this music the only thing Im not to fond of is the drums they seem a bit off. Sometimes they stand out too much or are muffled too much in the background at the wrong times/parts and have kind of a bland sound/ repeating beat to them. That just my opinion not putting the band down or anything other than the drums I think its great :D

xFallenx,

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, we were disappointed in how the drums turned out also. It was a brand new studio with an inexperienced engineer, but the price was right (free), because they wanted an album to use as a sample of what they can do.

I love the Hot Rod Deville. Such a great clean sound! I am using a Line 6 Spidervalv 2x12 right now, and the Tele sounds decent through it, but not nearly as nice as the Hot Rod's.

Thanks again for your feedback.

Jon
