I have a Mexican Tele that I love. But many "old school" guys have played it and have commented that it plays very well and can't believe it's a Mex. Furthermore I seem to remember the fella who sold it to me saying something about it being built in Mexico as a special edition to US specs (sales pitch?). It does have a "special edition" sticker on the back of the headstock. Can anyone tell me more? What do I have here?

If you hook us up with the serial number might be able to give you a better idea of what it is.

I fell in love with a mexican semi hollow body F hole Tele with humbuckers. I did'nt even play it at the store, just took it to the counter and bought it. No regrets, it is a great guitar. I have compared it to many others just for fun and none of them have that feel that this one has. Call it luck or whatever, but I have an exceptional guitar that only cost $700. I also have a highway 1 american strat that I love. Fender makes very cool stuff.
