Scotty Anderson is my favorite. If you see hime perform for a couple of hours, you will hear about every style of music you can play on a guitar.

Can't believe no-one mentioned Mr Jeff Buckley. If I was to buy any telecaster, it would be one exactly the same as his. Cream with a black pickguard...beautiful.

Jeff was amazing. No other words to explain it.

Roy Buchanan is my all time favorite.
His..."Sweet Dreams" is just fantastic.

I am more into country so for a modern day player it would have to be Gill or Paisley..

Rock - Keith Richard
Jazz - Mike Stern
Any style - Danny Gatton

These guys all play(ed) with signature tone and style that made me buy a Tele

Yeah I know its a pity that he plays a Pacifica copy nowadays but back in the 80's (I'm an old dude) eg Jigsaw era, I am pretty sure he had a beat up blond Tele which was the basis (colour/shape/pickups/neck etc) for the copy. His sound is great though.

I forgot one other guy who is a fellow Australian called Tommy Emmanuel. If you haven't heard him, check him out. Somewhere between Danny Gatton and Jerry Donohue and a real Telemeister!

David Gilmour does it for me. He plays both Strats and Telecasters. I just recently caught him on Abbey Road Live in studio (Sundance Channel).
